Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style, in which postures are generally held from 3 to 5 minutes per posture (although they can be held all the way up to 20 minutes). Allowing the body to feel some sensations (this is the difference with Restorative) but not so much so that you have to move or feel pain, so that you can relax the muscles and sink into the posture.
In this style we work on the deeper tissues, from the fascia and the connective tissues all the way down to the joints, allowing them to strengthen.
With the addition of self-myofascial release and self-massage techniques you can be sure to leave the class feeling more open, loose and less achy, but also relaxed and ready for bed.
